Kindergarten
Kindergarten at Lake Nixon is parallel to Outdoor Preschool. The kindergartners get to play, explore, and eat lunch with their preschool family. Kindergarten goes a few steps further than Pre-K and delves deeper into a variety of topics specifically for kindergarteners.
Daily pull out groups allow for kindergartners to get more time outside going on longer hikes, and spending more time working on their nature journals/portfolios.
Play
As always, play is an integral part of our days at Lake Nixon. Play surrounds us through all of our activities as a play based kindergarten. Play doesn't stop at any age. Kinder students and preschool students all get time to play together
Explore
With the graduation to kindergarten, there are more opportunities to expand exploration during the day. This means, more extensive hikes to explore the flora and fauna and species that are found in a around Lake Nixon.
STEAM
Science, technology, engineering, art, and math are are integrated throughout the day. In kindergarten, it is taken even deeper through daily pull out groups, which offer more concrete instruction.
